Title: Hating to be a ghost
Pairing: Moaning Myrtle/Sally-Anne Perks
Rating: PG

Hating to be a ghost.

Moaning Myrtle sat in her bathroom. She cried as always. This time it wasn’t because she had been called names, it wasn’t because she had been called names, it wan’t becasue someone made an insensitive remark.

No, she was in love. Her real first love had been the boy called Harry Potter. He never came to visit her anymore in her toilet. But she loved someone else now. A girl. A Gryffindor sixth year girl called Sally-Anne Perks.

Sally-Anne came often to Myrtle’s toilet to cry. Her boyfriend Terry had dumped her. And she now told everything to Myrtle. She felt like she had finally found someone to talk to; who would take her seriously.

Myrtle felt honoured and her feelings for Sally-Anne grew until the point she was at now. She hated being a ghost now. She hated it. She couldn’t kiss the woman she loved, she couldn’t make love to her.

Maybe if she was a ghost too, but she knew that was idle hope. Sally-Anne would probably go on if she died, she wouldn’t want to remain behind as a ghost to roam Hogwarts with poor moaning moping Myrtle. Maybe if she died the moment, now that she was so sad about Terry leaving.

So Myrtle cried. It was the only way she knew how to deal with things that troubled her.

Sally-Anne saw her crying. “What’s wrong Myrtle?” she asked.

Myrtle cried even harder. It had been Sally-Anne’s caring that had made Myrtle fal in love with her in the first place. “I hate to be a ghost, Sally-Anne,” Myrtle said. “I just wish I was really dead or just alive again.”

“You know you can’t,” Sally-Anne answered. “Come here, try to lay your head on my shoulder. And I’ll try to comfort you.”

Myrtle smiled and drifted towards Sally-Anne and did as she was asked. It felt good it was the closest thing she was ever going to come to being close to her.
